Christmas is here!

December 9th, 2007

The Cambridge Lions spent Saturday morning after Thanksgiving putting together the Christmas Tree downtown Cambridge. It was quite a turn out for the event. The result was spectacular.

We also have a Santa and Mrs. Claus making some visits in the coming couple weeks to help spread yuletide joy.

Also do not forget to purchase your Valentine’s raffle ticket from your Lions Club. It makes a great stocking stuffer. The cost is $20 with 13 chances to win $100 and 1 chance to win $1000. Only 300 tickets are sold.

Finally, for the community members — if you have an event or issue that you would like to have the Lions take a look by all means send us an email.

May you be blessed with wisdom and knowledge in the coming year.

Heather’s Car Show 2007

September 5th, 2007

Hat’s off to Heather’s of Rockdale for another successful year with the car show.
7th annual car and bike show was held at Lake Ripley Community Park.

All proceeds from the event benefited the Cambridge Community Health and Wellness Center and Cambridge Athletic Department.  There were activities for the whole family.

As a member of the community it was rather refreshing seeing many organizations and the hostess with most and organizer, Heather; come together and put on a great show for the Cambridge community.  There was a little bit for the whole family ending the day with a spectacular fireworks show.  Also with being located at the Lake Ripley Park allowed for access to the beach and playground.

September 5th, 2007

I’m sure you have heard the old slogan, “In this company we don’t have problems, we have solutions”. Lions are problem solvers. That attitude goes hand-in-hand with our motto, “We Serve” and with International’s “Challenge to Change” program. We live in a world filled with humanitarian needs. By working together, we will turn those needs into solutions.

Lions Build Communities Good Ol’ Summertime

August 20th, 2007

A Message from your District Governor, Gary Stewart

Lion Charlotte and I love summer. To us a big part of summer is taking in all the Lions
Events. Last weekend, we visited a lobster boil, a city festival and a chicken barbeque. Not that I’m suggesting you set such a hectic schedule, but one way you can improve your Club’s fundraising projects is to visit other Lions’ projects to see them first-hand.
